The City of Chandler is moving forward with construction of the Ashley Trail and Paseo Trail Connection to create safer trail connections across major roadways. This project will enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers while improving connectivity between key shared use paths.
The Ashley Trail crossing at Cooper Road was identified as a bicycle and pedestrian improvement in the 2019 Chandler Transportation Master Plan Update. Construction includes extending the Ashley Trail eastward to connect with the Chandler Paseo Trail and installing a new signalized pedestrian crossing on Cooper Road. Once complete, the enhanced crossing will provide a safer and more convenient way for trail users to cross Cooper Road and access the extended Ashley Trail on the east side of the corridor.
