CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler’s much-anticipated pickleball facility will open at Tumbleweed Park on Sept. 6, exactly one year from the groundbreaking.

Located on the southeast corner of Germann Road and Pioneer Parkway, the new facility offers 18 outdoor pickleball courts with LED lighting, restrooms, practice areas, drinking fountains and a parking lot.

“We appreciate the community’s support and guidance through the design and construction of this new facility,” said John Sefton, community services director. “As pickleball’s popularity has continued to grow, it was clear that Chandler had an opportunity to expand its footprint to accommodate the demand. We’re proud to complete this unique amenity, offering an affordable, accessible and welcoming environment to players of all ages.”

The pickleball facility opens on Sept. 6, following a ribbon-cutting by Mayor Hartke and the City Council at 8:30 a.m. Those who are new to the sport or want to refresh their skills can work with pickleball instructors that morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Equipment will be available to use during this time. Starting at 9 a.m., courts will be open to players on a first-come, first-served basis.

The pickleball facility will be open during regular park hours every day from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Courts are available daily for walk-in use unless reserved for city programming. Visit Chandler Pickleball to learn more about the facility, the other Chandler pickleball courts and pickleball programming offered through Chandler Recreation.
