Public Meet and Greet with Chandler Police Chief Candidates

Chandler, Ariz. – Chandler residents will have the opportunity on Feb. 1 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. to meet candidates vying to become the next Chandler Police Chief. The public gathering will be held at the Chandler City Hall Vision Gallery, 10 E. Chicago St., Chandler, AZ 85225.

“Working with our executive search firm, Mosaic Public Partners, we were fortunate to have more than 40 applicants from around the country for this opportunity to lead an outstanding police department in one of the safest large cities in the United States,” said City Manager Josh Wright. “I look forward to meeting with these five exceptionally qualified candidates and selecting a leader who can continue building on the Chandler Police Department’s success and trust within the community.” Per Chandler’s voter-approved City Charter, the City Manager hires the Police Chief.

Bryan Chapman, Assistant Police Chief, Phoenix Police Department (Phoenix, AZ)

Chapman has worked 28 years in law enforcement and has served the City of Phoenix since 1999. He has been Phoenix’s Assistant Police Chief since 2021, served as a Commander for two years and fulfilled leadership positions in multiple areas of the department. Prior to Phoenix, he was a police officer and detective for four years with the Bowling Green Police Division in Ohio. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Toledo and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Policing and Arizona State University’s Certified Public Manager program.

Sergio Enriquez, Assistant Police Chief, Santa Ana Police Department (Santa Ana, CA)

Enriquez recently retired as Assistant Chief with the Santa Ana Police Department after a 28-year career. He worked the majority of his career in the Field Operations Bureau, including as Assistant Chief where he led its 248 members who serve in various uniformed units and worked with community stakeholders. He also fulfilled leadership positions in multiple areas of the department. Prior to Santa Ana, he was a police cadet and police officer for four years with the Inglewood Police Department. Enriquez has a master's degree in psychology from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton.

Sasha Larkin, Assistant Sheriff, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Las Vegas, NV)

Larkin has served the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 25 years, fulfilling a variety of leadership assignments. She currently oversees the Homeland Security and Investigative Services divisions and serves as the Intelligence Commander for the Major County Sheriff’s Association. She sits on the Office of Director National Intelligence Board and represents her department on issues related to the prevention of crime and terrorism. She teaches how to build programs that support the prevention of terrorism and crime and build trust with the community. She chairs the Women of Metro, an internal organization that mentors women in law enforcement. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico in biological anthropology and criminal justice. She graduated the Executive Leaders Program at the Naval Post Graduate School in 2021.

Dave Ramer, Assistant Police Chief, Chandler Police Department (Chandler, AZ)

Ramer began his 25-year career in law enforcement with the Chandler Police Department in 1999. He has been Assistant Police Chief since 2019 and currently oversees all patrol-based operations. He has led various specialty police assignments, championed community policing and been recognized for community engagement. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in sociology. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police. He serves on the International Association of Chiefs of Police Policy Center Advisory Group and Law Enforcement Touch Run Committee.

Chris Vallejo, Commander, Austin Police Department (Austin, TX)

Vallejo has served 30 years with the Austin Police Department and currently commands the Special Victims Division and other specialized units. He is a National Policing Institute Executive Policing Fellow, delivering counsel and direction on contemporary issues in policing. He was awarded a National Institute of Justice Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science Scholar fellowship, using research and science to inform policy and practice. He holds a master’s degree in criminal justice and a bachelor’s degree in applied arts and science with specializations in constitutional law and political science. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institution for Police Leadership School and completed coursework in evidenced-based policing and executive leadership.
