Brooks Crossing Park Improvements

Brooks Crossing

Project: PR2205.201

The City of Chandler has been developing design concepts for potential improvements to Brooks Crossing Park located at 1345 W. Calle del Norte. Brooks Crossing Park was built in 1986 as a neighborhood park, and a place for residents to play, exercise, and visit with neighbors, friends, and family.

Neighborhood input was important to the future park improvements, so a virtual meeting/video presentation and community survey was provided in May 2022 to understand how nearby residents use the park and what improvements they’d like to see. The feedback from the community surveys was used to identify planned improvements to the park and two concept options for the park.

In August 2022, a second video presentation was developed with a community survey for nearby residents to provide their comments related to the planned improvements, and their preference related to the two design concept options for the park – one being a volleyball design concept and one a pickleball design concept.

Community feedback concluded the pickleball design concept option was preferred, with 60% of survey respondents selecting this option. The selected design concept for Brooks Crossing Park is provided below.

Current Project Schedule:

  • Parks and Recreation Board Presentation – Nov 2022
  • Implement improvements – Summer 2024 (to be phased, contingent on available resources and funding)

Thank you to the Brooks Crossing Park neighborhood for your active participation and thoughtful input.
