Grass to Xeriscape Landscape Conversion Rebate Questionnaire

Are you interested in removing your living grass and replacing it with low water using plants (Xeriscape)? Answer the questions below to find out if you’re eligible to apply for our incentive, $2 per square foot of grass removed up to $3,000!

Have you started your landscape conversion project, or is the project complete?

Unfortunately, your project is ineligible. Only landscapes with current living grass qualify. Please contact Water Conservation, if you have any questions.

Do you plan on removing at least 500 square feet of living grass?

To qualify, you must remove at least 500 square feet of grass, unless all the grass on the property is removed. Please reach out to Water Conservation, if you have any questions.

Are you including artificial turf in your new landscape?

You cannot replace current living grass solely with artificial turf alone. Please contact Water Conservation to make sure your plans will be approved post conversion. For more information go to Water Use It Wisely

Are you planning on replacing your living grass with pavers, concrete, travertine, or other non-permeable stone/hardscaping?

Our program does not incentive non-permeable hardscaping such as pavers, concrete, and travertine in the grass removal area. Please contact Water Conservation for more information.

Do you plan on using non-permeable material such as plastic sheeting in the landscape to prevent weeds?

Our rebate program does not allow the use of plastic sheeting in the landscape. Please contact Water Conservation for more information on materials that are allowed in the grass removal area.

Are you planning on replacing your living grass with low water-use plants?

You can submit a rebate application form to receive pre-approval (required to receive rebate) for your project! Please contact Water Conservation if you have any questions.

To qualify for the rebate, your living grass area must contain at least 50% coverage from low water-use plants post conversion.
