Economic Development: 2025 Year in Review

The City of Chandler was named best place to live-work-play in Arizona for the third year in a row, based on public voting for the 2025 edition of Ranking Arizona. Published by AZ Big Media, Ranking Arizona is an annual business opinion poll that asks voters to make their top picks in different categories important to the state’s business community.

We also welcomed many new businesses to our community and celebrated the growth of others. Below is a brief recap of the year’s biggest Chandler economic development stories.

Toyota Financial Services

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) doubles Chandler footprint as the company is expanding its office presence to support long-term operational needs. TFS leased an additional 40,000 square feet of office space at its current location, 1650 S. Price Road, and now occupies the entire 120,000-square-foot building.

Kovach

Kovach Enclosure Systems, has signed a new lease to continue growing its operations in Chandler. The company will occupy 190,475 square feet across two buildings at the recently redeveloped Chandler Freeways Business Park, located in West Chandler.

Brewer Science

Brewer Science, a global leader in developing and manufacturing next-generation materials and processes for the microelectronics and optoelectronics industries, announces the opening of a new office and lab in Chandler, Arizona: the Brewer Science Arizona Innovation Center.

Barrett Financial Group

Barrett Financial Group, to expand in Chandler after signing large 52,000-square-foot lease inside Insight's headquarters which sits on a 76-acre campus in the Airpark Area.

Simpson Strong Tie

Simpson Strong-Tie, one of the world’s largest suppliers of structural building products, is expanding its Chandler operations for the third time, recently signing a 67,000-square-foot lease at Chandler Airport Business Park. The facility will include a training center, small manufacturing department, and warehousing.

Applied Materials

Applied Materials announces plans to invest $200 million into a new advanced manufacturing facility in Chandler. The facility will produce semiconductor equipment components and parts and support the creation of potentially 200 additional manufacturing, R&D and services jobs in the semiconductor field over a five-year period.

Pure-Logic Industries

Pure-Logic Industries, a leader in precision manufacturing and engineering solutions, broke ground on its new 29,845-square-foot headquarters and production facility that will consolidate operations under one roof in the Airpark Area.

The Mahoney Group

The Mahoney Group, Arizona’s largest independent insurance, risk management, and employee benefits brokerage, relocated their operations into a 35,198-square-foot office building at Chandler Freeway Crossings that will initially serve as home for 90 employees with room to grow.

Claim Assist Solutions

Claim Assist Solutions, one of the nation’s largest providers of insurance claim support services, plans to open a 58,000-square-foot office at One Chandler Corporate Center, located in West Chandler. The new office will be the company's first in Arizona.

A few key development projects that broke ground

Chandler Innovation Park

DPC Companies broke ground on Chandler Innovation Park, a three-building industrial park that will offer approximately 327,776 square feet of premier industrial space. The 21-acre site at the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Ryan Road is in the heart of the Airpark Area, Chandler’s fastest growing employment corridor.

Envision 56

Opus broke ground on Envision 56, a new two-building Class A speculative industrial project they are developing near the intersection of 56th Street and Chandler Boulevard in West Chandler. The 125,000-square-foot development offers smaller tenants the rare opportunity to move into a state-of-the-art, single-user building.

Chandler Freeways Business Park

Ryan Companies broke ground on Chandler Freeways Business Park. Located southeast of the Loop 202 and Interstate 10 interchange, the project converted a former office building on site into an 87,600-square-foot, Class-A industrial building with plans to build a second 102,875-square-foot Class-A industrial building. This site was fully leased within the same year by Kovach.

New and exciting retail projects to check out

Take a swing at Chandler’s newest 24-hour entertainment destination, Taroko Sports, as they opened their second Arizona location in Chandler.

The Mexicano by @chefjoeymaggiore opened its second location— and first in Chandler— bringing bold, authentic flavors and a vibrant dining experience to the community.

J. Alexander's Restaurant

J. Alexander's Restaurant debuted its first Arizona location in West Chandler, serving up fresh American classics including steaks, prime rib, seasonal seafood, sandwiches, and more.

The MilkShake Factory has officially entered the Arizona market, opening its first location in the City of Chandler this year.

Online furniture retailer Wayfair opened its first Arizona outlet near Chandler Fashion Center this year, bringing its popular home furnishings closer to local shoppers.

Quiches & Pies, having only opened last November, has already captured a regional award by being listed among nine recently named “Best Places for Pie in the West” in a recent edition of AAA’s travel magazine, Via.

Pip Coffee + Clay is expected to open its first location in Chandler (third in the Valley) soon!

16 Handles, a New York-based frozen yogurt shop, is preparing to make its Arizona debut in early 2026.

Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung is opening their second location in Arizona at Chandler Fashion Center, which is also going through a redevelopment phase, to elevate the center’s culinary and retail mix inside and out.

Other newsworthy items from 2025

Chandler Career Center

The city continued onboarding local employers and job seekers onto the Chandler Career Center. Serving both sides of the talent pipeline, the platform provides direct employer support, job seeker engagement, and tailored workforce services. As of early December 2025, 88 Chandler employers have been onboarded and are actively working with our division, 1,191 positions have been manually posted, and 1,141 job seekers have been registered. Since launch, we have also facilitated or participated in 28 workforce development events and trainings to support this growing ecosystem.

 

 

Chandler Innovation Fair

The city hosted the 14th annual Chandler Innovation Fair, in partnership with Chandler Unified School District, with more than 160 exhibitors from local technology companies and schools demonstrating the importance of science to everyday life.

Part of the statewide Arizona SciTech Festival, the Chandler Innovation Fair is designed to get kids interested in STEM careers and over 9,500 people attended in 2025.

 

Choose Chandler Pass

Tourism (Visit Chandler):The "Choose Chandler Pass" initiative has been expanded to include six curated passes designed to encourage both visitors and residents to shop, dine, and enjoy activities in Chandler. Visit Chandler has collaborated with the local business community to participate in this program and provide special deals. Users can earn points by shopping locally, which can be redeemed for Visit Chandler-branded merchandise, Chandler-themed items, and entry into seasonal giveaways. In 2025, Visit Chandler had 2,174 pass holders engage with the initiative.



 

Chandler Endeavor

Chandler Endeavor Venture Innovation Incubator, a partnership between the city and ASU, has continued to serve entrepreneurs and small businesses in our community by providing personalized mentorship, workspace, and targeted programming designed to build fundable, scalable ventures. Over the past six months, they have engaged more than 200 people interested in launching or growing their business ideas.

 

 

 

UA in Chandler

The University of Arizona continues to grow its presence in Chandler through expanded programs and strong community partnerships. Over the past year, UA has seen significant growth in its business programs, continued strength in Education Psychology, and the launch of a new Mining Engineering program supporting Arizona’s critical industries. These offerings build on existing Chandler-based programs, including degrees in law, legal studies, teaching, and rhetoric, all aligned with regional workforce needs. Today, 85 students are enrolled full-time at UA Chandler, with more than 400 people attending onsite events this year.
