CHANDLER, Ariz. – The City of Chandler Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities invites the Chandler community to participate in two meaningful opportunities: the scholarship program and the 2026 Disability Awareness Awards.

The scholarship program invests in Chandler residents who have a disability and are pursuing their educational or career goals. Recipients may receive a one-time award of up to $1,000, paid directly to the institution or towards the reimbursement of approved supplies. Approval is based on academic achievement, leadership and a demonstrated commitment to their field of study or service.

Scholarship applications are accepted now through March 31 with funds awarded to selected applicants as early as June 2026.

In addition, the 2026 Disability Awareness Awards are now accepting nominations to celebrate individuals and organizations who champion inclusion and positively impact Chandler’s disability community. Nominations are free, open to Chandler’s residents and due by Friday, Jan. 30.

The six categories include:

  • Student of the Year Award
Recognizes a student with a disability who has excelled beyond their apparent limitations.

  • Educator of the Year Award
Honors an individual dedicated to training or educating people with disabilities.

  • Volunteer of the Year Award
