Staying on the cutting edge of technology is what makes Chandler a community of innovation. I believe in piloting ideas that promote connectivity and community engagement, which is why I supported a budget amendment for $50,000 that will provide funding to hire a qualified expert to work with the City Clerk to explore the prospect of blockchain voting.
Blockchain would allow registered voters to cast their ballots electronically in a safe and secure way — empowering residents to engage in City elections with minimal disruption to their daily lives. It would empower voters that may not otherwise be able to make it to the polls have their voice heard.
Chandler is leading the way using innovation and technology to streamline government services and provide residents with smart solutions to improve quality of life. I look forward to sharing more about this project as the study gets underway.
