More Table Tennis

In my time as a Chandler City Councilmember, I have been involved in creating more table tennis amenities for our residents. A budget amendment I brought forth for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 will use $5,000 to supply two new table tennis tables at an existing recreational facility, with a portion of the funding going towards purchasing awards and prizes for tournaments.

Table tennis is an increasingly popular sport, bringing individuals together for high-intensity matches that require a skill set of reaction, power and speed. The additional table tennis equipment will allow residents and visitors to indulge in Chandler’s unique culture while interacting with others, and will hopefully encourage local tournament organizers to use Chandler facilities.

Creating opportunities to build community through recreational programs that connect our residents is vital for residents to become invested in their future here. I look forward to hitting the tables this fall.
