The City of Chandler is committed to preparing the workforce of tomorrow through a combination of public and private partnerships throughout the City. Literacy is a top priority for our community as we work to provide children, teens and adults with the skills they need to succeed in both school and the workforce. I am a firm believer that early education has a positive long-term effect on our future generations.

To promote early literacy in Chandler, I brought forth a $12,000 budget amendment to support ReadOn Chandler, a collaborative literacy project made up of community organizations and businesses committed to ensuring that children obtain the necessary literacy skills for school readiness. ReadOn Chandler’s programs provide a variety of classes and locations for families to choose from, as well as literacy support for pre-kindergarten through adulthood. I am proud to stand behind Chandler’s early literacy initiatives. It is my hope that providing additional support for our residents and families will supply our future workforce with the tools they need to succeed.
