Chandler Recreation Programs for Active Adults

Discover something new with Chandler Recreation! Hundreds of programs are available each season, promoting ways for active adults to play for life.

Find available programs in the Break Time Guide.

Water fitness

It’s never too late to become a swimmer. The Chandler Aquatics swim program allows you to progress from no experience to becoming a master swimmer.

Water fitness offers many liquid benefits for adults! With little to no impact on your joints, water exercise improves your cardio fitness while strengthening and toning muscles. Using water’s resistance, work out at your own intensity level and increase as you go.

Senior Prom

As adults, it’s important to implement both discovery and play in our lives. Lifelong learning helps keep our brains fresh and play helps us feel young. And who doesn’t want that?

From arts and crafts to cooking to dancing, we offer a variety of programs that will stimulate your mind and broaden your skills. Enrichment classes are also a great way to make new friends and have a good time.

Outdoor excursion at Bartlett Lake

Being an active adult means you gain the freedom to choose when you want to embark on a new adventure. Whether it’s a Wednesday or Saturday, it’s always the perfect time for a day trip.

Trips boast a multitude of festivals, museums, hikes, and opportunities for active adults to do outdoor discovery, especially around the East Valley, Phoenix-Metropolitan and southern Arizona areas. Roundtrip transportation is typically included, and most trips include a chance to lunch. Our trips are a great way to travel stress-free and explore new places.
