Chandler is known as the Community of Innovation, making innovation and technology one of the key focus areas of its strategic planning. This includes building and maintaining infrastructure to ensure capacity for present and future opportunities, as well as pursuing smart city initiatives to continue meeting the unique needs of the community in new and innovative ways.
Some of the priorities in the innovation and technology focus area in the City’s 2022-2023 budget include improved essential communication tools, efficiency and sustainability improvements and measures to ensure data security.

- Accelerate conversion of streetlights to LED fixtures that generate energy and cost savings

- Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
