Here’s How it Works

The contest will run on only one of our social media platforms each day rotating through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Nextdoor every Monday through Friday in September. AND as long as our response rate goes up each day, we’ll select a winner.  If the response rate doesn’t go up, no winner will be selected.

Response rates are updated daily, Monday-Friday, and can be found at Census Response Rates.

Here’s How to Enter

  1. Take the Census at my2020census.gov. If you've already taken it, thank you.
    1. Yes, you can enter if you've already taken it! However, we'd love for you to encourage your family, friends and neighbors to take the Census. (Remember, we'll only select a winner if our number goes up.)
  2. Follow us on one or all of our social media accounts. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Nextdoor. The more you follow the more chances you have to enter.
  3. Check the schedule below to see what social media account we're posting on each weekday in September.
  4. Complete the contest. Participate one day, two days or every day. The contest closes each day at 3 p.m.
  5. As long as the response rate goes up the next day, we’ll randomly select a winner from who commented on the previous day’s Census contest post.
  6. Winners will be announced on the contest post and notified via direct message for how to select and claim their prize.

Let’s get counted, Chandler!

The final count from the 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade.

Lawmakers, business owners, and many others will use 2020 Census data to make critical decisions. The results will show where communities need new schools, new clinics, new roads, and more services for families, older adults, and children.
