Voices of Chandler

As we unveiled the new “Field of Honor” memorial at Veterans Oasis Park last week, one of the City’s main goals was to recognize community members who served our country. On this episode of Voices of Chandler, The Podcast host Melina Zuniga and co-host Julie Carpenter continue to celebrate our local veterans.

Listen to learn what went into the construction of Chandler’s latest landmark and why it’s so unique, as well as hear from local veterans themselves about their varied experiences.

Episode 13 Highlights:

  • Chandler Museum Collections Coordinator, Nate Meyers, explains the history and importance of the F-86D Sabre Dog Korean War-era plane that was recently renovated and moved
  • Mickey Ohland, Park Development & Operations Manager, discusses the elements of Veterans Oasis Park that made it the perfect place for Field of Honor
  • The memorial is based in “Six Guiding Principles” that are revealed during this episode
  • Air Force Veteran, Bob Dalphe, shares what brought him to the military and how his time serving shaped the rest of his life
