Through Your Eyes

It's time to vote in our inaugural State of the City “Through Your Eyes” Art Contest. Participants were asked, How do they see Chandler, now and into the future? Share what Chandler means to you, whether that is family, school, opportunities, etc. 

Artwork will be displayed at the 2022 State of the City on Feb. 17, 2022 at the Chandler Center for the Arts.

Voting Closed

It's time to vote for the winners of the inaugural State of the City Through Your Eyes Art Contest. There will be three winners in each age category.

  • Entries should be judged based upon the following criteria:
    • creativity and originality
    • quality and execution
    • adherence to the Theme 
    • overall impression

We invite all contest participants to the 2022 State of the City on Feb. 17, 2022 at the Chandler Center for the Arts to see your artwork displayed.

 

Contest Rules and Information
  • To be eligible to participate in the 2022 State of the City Student Art Contest, you must meet the following criteria:
    1. 6-18 years of age
    2. be a City of Chandler resident
    3. have a parent/legal guardian who is over 18 years of age and will provide parental consent to enter the contest
    4. can drop off your art at City Hall or submitted online

Contest Categories

  • Ages 6-9
  • Ages 10-13
  • Ages 14-18
  • Mayor’s Choice (chosen from any category)

Participant Criteria

  • All applicants must fill out the online entry form
  • Limit one (1) entry per eligible participant during the contest period
  • The entry must:
    • depict the eligible participant’s interpretation of the theme
    • be an original work of art in any of the following media/formats: drawing, painting, photography or digital
    • be dropped off at City Hall or submitted online
      • physical entries must be created on 22" x 28" poster and be dropped off at City Hall
      • digital entries must be sized to 22" x 28" and be no larger than 25 MB 
    • not contain copyrighted material
    • not contain threatening, offensive, or abusive material
    • be submitted by 5 p.m. Feb. 4 2022
  • Eligible entries will be judged by the public through an online voting system. There will be 9 winners— 3 winners in each age group (ages 6-9, ages 10-13, and ages 14-18).
     
  • Entries will be judged based upon the following criteria:
    • creativity and originality
    • quality and execution
    • adherence to the Theme 
    • overall impression

Winners will be announced on Feb. 17, 2022, during the State of the City address.

  • 1st place winners will receive $500
  • 2nd place winners will receive $250 
  • 3rd place winners will receive $100
  • Mayor’s Choice winner

Participation in this art contest constitutes permission for the City to use, without notice or further compensation, any eligible participant’s entry, photo, likeness, biographical information, statement, and voice in any and all media for any purpose, including but not limited to, advertising and promotional purposes, the website or other promotions.
