CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division and Chandler Public Library invite the community to four Diwali celebrations at each library branch. Diwali is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism and serves as a beautiful reminder that light protects us from spiritual darkness.
The four celebrations include:
Diwali Festival of Lights Celebration
Saturday, Nov. 2 | 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Downtown Chandler Library, 22 S. Delaware St.
Attendees can immerse themselves in India's rich beauty on the library's second floor with vibrant dance performances and music that captures the spirit of Diwali. Visit Diwali Festival of Lights to view the performance schedule. There also will be hands-on crafts available in The Makery, plus face and henna painting. Friday, Oct. 25 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Hamilton Library, 3700 S. Arizona Ave.

Monday, Oct. 28 | 3-5:30 p.m.
Basha Library, 5990 S. Val Vista Drive
This family-friendly event includes Diwali stories, crafts, henna art, music and dance performances to learn more about the culture. Whether you celebrate Diwali or want to learn more about it, join us for this fun event.

Tuesday, Oct. 29 | 4-6 p.m.
Sunset Library, 4930 W. Ray Road
This free celebration will feature traditional music, art, crafts and a special storytime.
