CHANDLER, Ariz. The City of Chandler’s Economic Development Division and Arizona State University’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts are excited to announce the launch of the Transferable Skills Workshop Series, an innovative zero-cost workforce development initiative aimed at enhancing the adaptability and competitiveness of both Chandler’s general population and ASU students. This series marks a significant step forward in aligning local talent with the evolving needs of key industry sectors.

The free series, hosted at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, at 249 E. Chicago St., in Chandler, will include workshops that focus on developing transferable skills that are critical across industries. They are:

  • Cultural Proficiency in Professional Environments | Wednesday, Oct. 16
  • Social Media for Business | Wednesday, Nov. 6
  • Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace and Classroom | Wednesday, Nov. 13

Each workshop will be held from 5-7 p.m. with more workshops coming in 2025. The series is designed to empower participants by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to develop their “soft skills” and excel in modern workplaces, particularly in sectors that form the backbone of Chandler’s economy such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare and information technology.

Workshops will be conducted by seasoned professionals and academics, ensuring high-quality, impactful learning experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to earn free micro-credential digital badges upon the completion of each individual workshop to enhance their resumes and digital profiles on LinkedIn. The workshops are open to all, aiming to benefit job seekers looking to upskill, students wanting to pair their technical knowledge with soft skill development, and employers interested in enhancing their teams’ capabilities.

Registration details and the full workshop schedule are available at Transferable Skills Workshop Series and on the newly launched Chandler Career Center platform, which connects local job seekers with Chandler employers.
