Alley Rehabilitation

(Project Nos: ST2112.401 / CHN0251D / T033801C)

The City of Chandler has contracted with Cactus Asphalt for the alley rehabilitation project. Construction is scheduled to resume in late July 2024 for the rehabilitation of alleys in five neighborhoods in Chandler to reduce PM10 dust emissions. To see segment locations, view the public meeting presentation.

Rehabilitation includes the removal of the top layer of material in the alley, replacing it with asphalt millings, or chips, and applying a sealcoat to assist in binding the millings to create a good surface. As there are several neighborhoods scheduled for this work, the various steps may not take place immediately after one another, with construction for the entire project taking approximately 3-4 months to complete. Residential services should not be disrupted during this work and residents affected by this work will receive a mailer. Alley trash bins may be relocated to the street during the project and returned upon completion. Please contact us if you experience any issues.

Open house public meetings were held on February 27, 2024, to provide an opportunity for residents to learn about the project. The public meeting presentation which includes the neighborhoods identified for alley rehabilitation as part of this project.
