2022 Year in Review: Business Growth

The City of Chandler, Arizona continues to be a place where businesses go to grow.

This past year, we welcomed several new companies to Chandler and saw others expand their operations. New development projects are creating opportunities for additional business growth and some key redevelopment projects have brought activity back to underutilized properties.

Here are some of the exciting projects that happened in Chandler during 2022.

Since 2007, Skin Script has been changing the quality skin care experience with more than 35 corrective skin care products manufactured in the USA.

Skin Script has been serving licensed aestheticians from all over the country for the past 14 years. Founded in Tempe, the company is expanding and relocating to a larger facility in nearby Chandler at 6150 W. Chandler Blvd., Suite 28.

With more than 26,000 square-feet, this new facility has been built out to meet Skin Script’s needs with sales offices, warehouse space, and a state-of-the-art training room where they will host professional trainings for licensed aestheticians both virtually and in-person.

EMD Electronics announces new factory in Chandler to expand capacities of its delivery systems & services business

EMD Electronics, the North American Electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, today announced a new factory in Chandler to manufacture equipment for its Delivery Systems & Services (DS&S) business.

As part of the Level Up program, the $28 million investment will enable DS&S to capture and grow its gas and chemical delivery systems business in the targeted regions of North America and Europe, with supplemental capacity to supply Asia. The factory will operate on a new property in Chandler and has been secured with a long-term lease. The company expects to start operations in the new factory by the end of 2022. At full ramp-up, staffing levels will grow to greater than 100 total employees.

GM to grow workforce at IT Innovation Center in Chandler with hundreds of new tech jobs

General Motors is hiring several hundred employees for software-based positions at its Arizona Information Technology Innovation Center in 2022. More than 1,000 GM employees are based out of the 170,000 square-foot facility, located at 2900 W. Geronimo Place in Chandler’s Price Corridor.

The Arizona IT Innovation Center is one of four national GM technology hubs, with sister locations in Warren, Michigan; Austin, Texas; and Roswell, Georgia. These IT Innovation Centers tackle solutions and services redefining GM’s products as the company moves toward an all-electric future. Roles based in Chandler include software developers, software developers in-test, data analysts, business analysts, product managers, project/scrum managers and software architects.

VIAVI signs office lease in Chandler for global headquarters

Viavi Solutions Inc., a global leader in network testing and optical technologies, has leased 15,000 square feet of office space in Chandler’s Price Corridor. The office building is located within the Allred Park Place development at 1445 S. Spectrum Blvd.

In February 2021, VIAVI announced Chandler was selected for a new advanced manufacturing operation and the relocation of their corporate headquarters from Silicon Valley. VIAVI purchased a 104,000-square-foot industrial building at 3455 S. McQueen Road, where it planned to co-locate its headquarters within the same facility, but recently determined that it needed additional space. The two facilities are separated by only a few miles, with the new office in Chandler’s Price Corridor and manufacturing operation in the Airpark Area.

Edwards,the leading supplier of vacuum and abatement services and solutions to the global semiconductor industry, has announced; its investment in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chandler. The facility is located at 2411 E. Germann Road.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility will leverage the latest manufacturing and digital technologies to support the fast-growing North American semiconductor market with services and solutions for the efficient and environmentally sustainable production of chips.

BioProcure announces office expansion to Chandler

BioProcure announces office expansion to Chandler

BioProcure, the premier procurement and accounts payable services company for biotech companies, announced today its expansion to a temporary office in Chandler, Arizona. BioProcure expects the temporary office to be operational in April 2022 with plans to establish a permanent Arizona location by 2023.

BioProcure will be located within Workpliciti, which is a flexible office space on the Price Corridor. BioProcure expects to hire approximately 35 employees in the first year and 150 employees within three years. The Chandler location will include procurement, operations and administrative positions.

Say hello to the latest redevelopment project in Chandler.The Aloha;a classic Arizona motel that had seen better days, has now been transformed into a 26-room boutique motel for the modern traveler. Located at 445 N. Arizona Ave., the motel is perfectly situated for visitors wanting to explore downtown Chandler and the surrounding area.

The project started in 2019 when investors John Hylton and Bill Simmonds first viewed the property. They looked past The Aloha’s aged exterior and recognized an understated icon of the post war car culture, a symbol of a golden age when the traveling middle class used motor inns as they made their way across the country.

Yield Engineering Systems expands presence on Chandler’s Price Corridor

The facility will support U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, creating 100 jobs

Yield Engineering Systems, known by the acronym YES, has leased 123,000 square feet at 3200 W. Germann Road within the acclaimed Price Corridor. The facility will support YES in serving the region’s thriving semiconductor industry.

YES develops and manufactures thermal, deposition, and wet process equipment that is used in semiconductor, life sciences, and display manufacturing. The Chandler facility will house a “Technology Center” with R&D functions, cleanroom operations, advanced manufacturing, customer support, and office space.

SelectBlinds relocates Headquarters to Chandler

Locally grown SelectBlinds, a custom online window covering retailer, is announcing the grand opening of its new headquarters in Chandler, Ariz. The new space is part of the San Tan Tech Center, located at 145 S. 79th St. The 29,526-square-foot office will accommodate the company's future growth plans over the next five years.

Since preparations to move its global headquarters from California began in 2021, the company has already made significant contributions to the business and technology community. NewQuest Properties reports that revitalized Chandler Ranch is nearly fully leased

With lease-up close at hand, NewQuest Properties is preparing for the next wave of openings in Chandler Ranch, an innovative project seeding Chandler's high-tech hub with new-to-Arizona restaurant and retail brands.

The NewQuest project, totaling 117,565 sf, is 97% leased, a milestone reached within 30 months of the Houston-based developer's acquisition of the property – a one-time struggling center that's been infused with $10 million of capital improvements and re-tenanting. The high-profile project at 1760 W. Chandler Blvd. is anchored by 99 Ranch Market, the California-based grocery chain's first store in Arizona as is the case with the majority of the tenant roster.
