Are we witnessing the decline of our beloved saguaros? Despite their reputation for resilience in harsh environments, Arizona's recurring heat waves and extreme droughts can subject these iconic cacti to significant stress and even death. In recent years, residents of the Phoenix Valley have witnessed a troubling increase in saguaro damage and mortality in urban areas. Could it be that Arizona is losing its iconic saguaro cacti in our desert urban spaces?
