CHANDLER, Ariz. – Friends of Chandler Public Library is ready for Library Giving Day on Wednesday, April 3! Alongside more than 350 library systems, the Friends are committed to raising awareness and funds to support the incredible resources available at the Chandler Public Library.

Beyond public funding, donors who support the Friends are making a measurable impact within community libraries. Chandler Public Library provides essential services residents and visitors rely on, including physical collections, eBooks and digital resources, public computers, tech help, tutoring, kindergarten readiness assistance, nontraditional items for loan such as cultural passes, and other programs for all ages.

“Libraries serve as the cornerstones of our community, providing resources for lifelong learning, enrichment and connection,“ says Tara Anglin, Community Engagement Program Manager. “Supporting the Friends on Library Giving Day allows these resources to remain robust and at no cost for residents.”

Interested individuals may donate through the Friends of the Library fundraising form.

Library Giving Day kicks off National Library Week, available at Chandler Public Library through April 13. National Library Week recognizes the far-reaching impact libraries make within our communities.

“Libraries are inclusive places that welcome people of all ages, from all backgrounds, cultures and walks of life,” says Rachelle Kuzyk, Chandler Public Library Manager. “This is the foundation that fosters connection within our community. During National Library Week we celebrate the patrons who visit our libraries, the evolving resources available to them, and the librarians who make memorable experiences every day.”

One of the featured events during Library Week is the Local Authors Fair on April 6. This unique event features more than 30 Arizona authors and zine creators. Meet the authors, learn about the stories behind their work, and participate in interactive activities at the Makery.

Additional Library Week events the Lego Club on April 3, Family Science on April 8 and Nature of Things: Introduction to Nature Journaling on April 13.
