The following sewer pipeline, manhole, and lift station rehabilitation are scheduled. Detailed construction and schedule information on each project is provided below:
- Chandler Lift Stations Rehabilitation
- Delaware Street & Erie Street Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements
- Loop 101 (Price Rd Freeway) / Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) Redundant 66” Sewer Rehabilitation Project
Price Road Sewer Rehabilitation Project (South of the Loop 202): As a final component of the Price Road Sewer Rehabilitation Project in Price Road, from south of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway to Queen Creek Road, the following pavement restoration is planned:
Traffic restrictions will be in place in Price Road, from south of the Loop 202 to Germann Road, March 26-29 and April 1-3. Price Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction during peak and off-work hours, and further reduced to one lane in each direction beginning at 8:30 a.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. on the weekend for work to take place.
- Scheduled for Thursday and Friday, March 26-27, crews will conduct asphalt patching in Price Road, from south of Loop 202 to Germann Road. In addition, crews will obliterate (remove) existing thermal striping to prepare the roadway for pavement application.
- Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, crews will crack seal Price Road from south of Loop 202 to Germann Road. Once crack seal is complete, all traffic control will be removed until April 1.
- Scheduled for Wednesday through Friday, April 1-3, crews will apply a slurry seal pavement application to Price Road, from south of Loop 202 to Germann Road. There will be several traffic control changes throughout these days, so please drive with caution and obey traffic signage. Striping of the roadway will follow the pavement application.
The City of Chandler has contracted with MGC Contractors to rehabilitate several wastewater lift stations throughout Chandler to make repairs or upgrades. Work will typically take place on-site at the lift station; however, traffic restrictions may be needed in some instances to accommodate the work activity as many of these sites have limited space available. Work will typically take place during daytime hours, weekdays (excluding major holidays). A map of the planned locations and current tentative schedule is provided.

The City of Chandler has contracted with B&F Contracting to conduct various activities related to Chandler’s wastewater infrastructure in the area between Arizona Avenue and Hamilton Street, from Chandler Boulevard to Galveston Street.
Work includes documenting existing conditions to identify locations where there may be a need for localized repairs or rehabilitation (lining) of the existing pipeline. Some processes include the need for a sewer bypass, which diverts flows from the existing pipeline underground to an above-ground pipe which is installed from one manhole to another. This type of rehabilitation minimizes impacts as crews clean and line the existing sewer pipeline without having to trench excavate.
Work west of Delaware Street will primarily take place in the alleyway, where the sewer pipeline is located, so alleys or segments of alleys may be closed to accommodate this work. Work in the road may require short road closures, or restrictions of lanes or on-street parking. Signage will be placed in advance to direct travelers. Work will take place primarily during daytime hours, weekdays, with traffic control remaining in place 24/7 to protect the work zone.
Project completion is expected in early 2026. Thank you for your patience during this work.
The City of Chandler has contracted with B&F Contracting to rehabilitate the existing 30”, 48” and 66” sewer pipeline and manholes crossing under the Loop 101 from the west, under the Loop 202 from the south, and connecting those two crossings north of the drainage ditch on the north side of the westbound Loop 202 ramp to the northbound Loop 101. This project also includes installation of a 66” sewer pipeline under the Loop 202 east of the existing sewer pipeline to provide redundancy for maintenance or during peak periods (see graphic).
The existing pipeline to be rehabilitated will be accomplished through a “trenchless” technology of lining the existing sewer pipeline, which extends the life of the pipeline and is less impactful and of shorter duration than removal and replacement. To accommodate the lining process, crews install a sewer bypass which removes flows from the existing pipeline underground and redirects them through an above ground pipeline from one manhole to another. This enables the existing pipeline to then be evacuated and cleaned for the lining process to take place.
The new redundant pipeline being installed will be accomplished through a boring process which will bore, or tunnel, a larger steel casing under the Loop 202 from one side to the other, and the 66” sewer pipeline can then be inserted into the steel casing. This method best accommodates Loop 202 traffic as it can take place off the roadway with large pits on either side of the alignment to bore or receive the pipeline. However, due to the large size of pipe, it is not a quick process.
This work to rehabilitate and install pipeline is taking place off the roadway; however, you may see or hear activity if you live or work near the project area or travel these roadways. Construction began in early 2026 and is expected to be complete in Summer 2027.
